Hendrickson STEERTEK NXT Axle Gains New Advancements for Blue Bird School Buses

Hendrickson introduced new advancements to its STEERTEK NXT axle, now featured on select Blue Bird school buses. The optimized design reduces weight by an additional 25 pounds. According to the company, this supports improved fuel economy and greater payload capacity for school transportation fleets.

This updated axle is available on Blue Bird Vision and All American models and can be configured with either the SOFTEK or AIRTEK suspension systems. Hendrickson’s proprietary design and manufacturing process enhances both performance and serviceability.

“The Hendrickson STEERTEK NXT axle is a proven solution that now brings even greater value to the school bus market,” said Sean Whitfield, Director of Marketing at Hendrickson. “This lighter-weight version adds vehicle weight reduction to a product already designed to boost uptime with reduced maintenance and strong serviceability.”
